Australian Nintendo 3DS software launch line-up announced

3DS News | Updated: More third-party launch titles confirmed.
Nintendo Australia have just announced their software line-up that will be available at launch for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS handheld console in Australia.

The following Nintendo-published titles will be available from 31 March:

  • nintendogs + cats: Golden Retriever & New Friends
  • nintendogs + cats: French Bulldog & New Friends
  • nintendogs + cats: Toy Poodle & New Friends
  • Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition

Following the 3DS' launch, Pilotwings Resort and Steel Diver are the next two Nintendo games due for release with dates yet to be confirmed.

Of course, there are a range of third-party titles that will be launching with the 3DS, although many of them do not have confirmed release dates yet. However, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 3D, Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars 3D, Ridge Racer 3D, Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D, Super Monkey Ball 3D and Asphault 3D are all listed as coming out on 31 March on EBGames website.

Update

Mindscape have confirmed with PALGN that Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D now has a confirmed release date of 31 March 2011.

In addition, Rayman 3D, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars 3D and Rabbids 3D are all part of various 3DS bundles at launch, making it almost certain they will be arriving launch day.

Surely all those games listed on EB's website are launching.

If it's seriously only two games I'll cry.

Edit: This is just first party titles, dudes. Bunch of games due for launch day.

Thanks Theory, I've added first-party in the article to clarify that.

Edit: Nintendo-published. That way there's no margin for error and I won't look like any more of an idiot. Although that would be pretty hard.

Didn't the Gameboy Colour only have two games when it launched here. Mario and Tetris?

But yeah, I'm sure those third party titles will be day one releases too.

Really hope we don't have too long for Ocarina and Star Fox.

Ocarina isn't until after E3. I assume Star Fox is the same.

Damn...
Well at least I will have fun with the inbuilt AR game.

Only potential launch game I'm remotely interested in is Ridge Racer. Won't be buying one of these at launch.

I think you're allowed to go with only two games when the two games are mario and tetris though. Hell I know people who owned a game boy for years and never took tetris out of it.

Gaming is slighty bigger these days, too... got a feeling that there'll bea few more sales of the 3DS than the GBC (like, in the first week of sales in Japan alone icon_razz.gif).

Nintendowned.

Nintendo should take a book out of EA or activisions book. They should release more 1st party games more regulary. Not yearly, but the fact that you always know there is another COD but are never sure if there will be another smash brothers is not cool.

Smash bros 3ds will be the only game I would need so release that and bring on mario kart and everyone will be happy. Cant believe no mario at launch for wii or 3ds. Thats pathetic. Gamecube at least had luigi

I quite like that I'm not getting yearly iterations of every core Nintendo franchise.

There was a couple more and it wasn't the 'Color' variant, just monochrome.

Pretty poor launch line up from Nintendo though. Nothing big and tempting to me.

jarrod i did not mean yearly, but uncharted 3, mass effect 3, gears of war 3 etc all started on 360/ps3 yet pikmin 3 still has not been seen. Donkey kong needed the world "returns" in its title its been so long. Mario galaxy 2 is the first time 2 marios have been out on a console and if you think that game should not have come out then we would have missed one of the greatest games ever made.

To sum up i want a new smash brothers lol

I guess I just dont mind the wait. Nintendo have a lot of IPs and I'd rather they give them all room to breath, especially with the kind of quality they're capable of delivering.

We may never get a Smash Bros 3DS. It seems like a no brainer, because it would sell crazy well, but the DS never saw a Smash Bros.
