Upcoming Ubisoft 3DS titles revealed

3DS News | Ubisoft dig their fingers into the 3D market.
Publisher Ubisoft has announced their planned Nintendo 3DS line-up for the first half of 2011, which comprises of a whopping eight games.

CEO of the company, Yves Guillemot, had this to say about the line-up;

“Ubisoft is a leader in developing innovative content for Nintendo platforms and we’re thrilled to continue that tradition, offering numerous titles out of the gate for all audiences for the Nintendo 3DS. Ubisoft’s creative teams have developed a rich and diverse line-up of games that take advantage of the amazing innovations that Nintendo has designed with its new handheld platform.”

So what can gamers expect to see? Firstly, Tom Clancy fans can rejoice, with the original Splinter Cell getting a remake for the handheld device. Also to be available is Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars, a brand new title featuring turn-based strategy gameplay.

Nostalgia awaits players of the old Rayman games, with Rayman 2 being adapted and updated for pure platforming gameplay in 3D. Spinoff franchise Rabbids gets an entry in the lineup as well. Also for the kids is Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D.

Unsurpisingly, driving fans will get a taste of the action as well, with both Driver Renegade and Asphalt 3D being announced.

As for new IP, Ubisoft have a game tittled James Noir's Hollywood Crimes up its sleeve, which takes players into a game combining puzzle and adventure elements and featuring 150 brain teasers to solve.

No announce dates have been confirmed as of yet, but we'll be sure to fill you in as we hear the news.

I bet only 1 out of the 8 is worth playing.

So they took a bunch of existing games and slapped "3D" on the title? That's hardly inspiring

Well at least most of them were not originally on a portable console. (At least I don't think they were)

Sense of deja vu with this launch, it feels the same as Wii and DS launches for me (previoulsy imported the Cube and N64 from USA). Similar lineups, preorders and price and unfortunatley, similar games. Hope the 3D effect is enough to sustain interest.

I know, but given the blathering about being innovative? I think someone needs to send Ubisoft a dictionary.

I like how every title has a big red 3D in it, like we didn't already guess it was in 3D from being on a console that has 3D in its name.

I'm honestly excited about Ghost Recon. The rest can get fucked, though.
