Revealled by Nintendo World Report, the game will support a season mode as well as a five-on-five mode, and will include all thirty-two NFL teams in the league. Different play call modes will return from Madden NFL 2011, and a handful of features from the Wii releases of Madden, including 'Call Your Shots', which allows players to change their play on the fly via the 3DS touch screen, and 'Spotlight Moments', which incorporate mini-games into game changing moments to help your player's performance.
Madden NFL intends to launch in the United States during the first half of 2011, which EA considers as within the launch window of the 3DS.
