EA announces My Garden for Nintendo 3DS

3DS News | 3D flower power!
The Tokyo Game Show has begun! As reported by Joystiq, and revealed during EA's press event, the Nintendo 3DS will be getting its very own gardening simulator titled My Garden.

My Garden will allow players to sew their own seeds, grow their own gardens, and collect a number of flowers. Each garden will be interactive, taking full advantage of the new platform, such as allowing players to whistle into the microphone to attract birds.

Built exclusively for the system, an EA representative stated that a garden simulator was chosen as dense flowers and layers of plants was a fantastic way of showing off 3D rendering capabilities.

Expect to learn more about My Garden in the near future.

I've got enough weeds to pull out in my real backyard. They're in glorious 3D too!

Although this did make me laugh:

I'd be real attractive to "birds" wolf-whistling at my DS on the train! icon_wink.gif

At least you'd have an excuse for doing it.

Perfect tagline? "About As Much Fun As Watching Grass Grow".

Seriously.. we're on the verge of one of the biggest breakthroughs in handheld tech and this is what EA comes up with?

I dont think it will be too bad, as its been described as Viva PiƱata meets Pokemon Snap, but it seems to target a very specific audience; the Nintendogs crowd.

Considering Nintendo have been pushing many other devs to also hit the DS with their big guns (Street Fighter, Metal Gear Solid, Saint's Row, etc), it would be a shame if EA did nothing but shit on the platform with casual titles.

I could see it being fun but the description makes it sound like the most boring game ever conceived.

Then again I lost like a year of my life to Harvest moon on the SNES...
