PALGN's GBA Top 5

GBA Feature | The readers and writers of PALGN bring you their top 5 Game Boy Advance games.
If you can set your mind back to 12 days ago, PALGN ran a story asking its readers to write in with their top 5 games for each format. Over the course of the rest of the week, we'll be running articles on the results of each of these polls, with the $poons prize being awarded on the final day. So without further ado, we will now present the readers' and writers' of PALGN's top 5 Game Boy Advance games.

Readers

A fierce competition took place at the top of the table for the Readers' GBA Top 5 between two favourites; the winner, achieving victory by a single vote was the return of everyone's favourite bounty hunter, Samus Aran, in her adventures in Metroid Fusion. In second place was the original adventure of Andy, Max, Sami and the crew in the turn based strategy gem, Advance Wars. The sun is rather golden in third place, with Camelot's Game Boy Advance RPG debut, Golden Sun. Fourth place was overtaken by the dastardly Black Hole Army from the minimalist sequel, Advance Wars 2. Finally, Mario comes a-ridin' on the back of Yoshi to claim fifth place with the superb adventure Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World.

1. Metroid Fusion
2. Advance Wars
3. Golden Sun: The Lost Age
4. Advance Wars 2
5. Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World

Writers

The PALGN's staff top 5 was also very competitive, with only one point separating first and second places. Coming out on top with 8 points was the classic Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island. Let's hope for Yoshi's sake that he doesn't eat too many Fuzzies in celebration. Funnily enough, the real battle was for the second place in the chart, with 3 games all finishing with equal points. The original turned based adventures of Andy, Max and Sami start off the tie breaker in their fantastic piece, Advance Wars. The combination of Link's classic SNES adventure, and his first multiplayer adventure, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past/Four Swords is second in the tie breaker. Over 250 Pokemon may have not been enough to take outright second place, but they did manage to secure a spot in the 2nd place tie breaker with their sensational RPG adventure, Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire. All 3 games were tied on 7 points each. Finally, Wario's wacky mini-game compilation, Wario Ware: Mini-game Mania brings the chart to a close with 4 points.

1. Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island
2. Advance Wars
3. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past/Four Swords
4. Pokemon: Ruby/Sapphire
5. Wario Ware: Mini-game Mania

Stay tuned to PALGN tomorrow for the top 5 PlayStation 2 games.

Golden sun really isnt that good a game (it's not bad either)
I'm guessing alot of the voters are 16 or so years old.

Also crap like the mario remakes shouldnt be considered as they're merely snes games not real GBA titles, most gamers played em 10 years ago....

Blame the readers, but seeing as they are retail releases, there's no point in disqualifying them either.

ya true true. Just annoyed to see good hardware getting wasted on cash cow ports. The following year should be good for those wanting original GBA titles icon_wink.gif
