GBA News | Only for 99.99€ too.
Direct from the Games Convention held in Germany, Nintendo has revealed that their upcoming ‘trendy’ handheld device, the Game Boy Micro, will be hitting European stores on November 11th 2005 and will be retailed for 99.99€ (£69).

The Game Boy Micro measures just 4 inches wide, 2 inches long and 0.7 inches thin and will be available at launch in silver, blue, pink (a crowd favourite) and green. If it helps your appetite, we have the first images of the new colours in action. Enjoy!

Err... Yay? I've already spent more on the two GBAs than I did buying my Cube, I don't think I'll be getting this one as well.

Heh, I'm actually tempted to believe Nintendo may have overpriced this a tad actually, as small and desirable as it is.

When you can get a DS for $50 extra - yeah I'd say it's overpriced - or at least the DS is underpriced.

Hmm... they look good but their shape vagely reminds me of those 80's hand held things, you know with Mr. Game&Watch?

call me crazy, but i always thought the Mr. Game&Watch units were more, you know, watch shaped... icon_dumb.gif

Both really. $150 for a tiny GBA isn't really too much, but you might as well get a DS, they're already down to $170 at kmart specials etc.

Side note: Imagine telling someone ten years ago that you'd be able to have a handheld machine more powerful then a SNES, that's less then 1/3 the size of a SNES cartridge!

No, Game & Watches were DS shaped - or just the bottom half of the DS if it was one screen. Two 'Game Watches' were also released, but the 50 or so G&W games were handheld.

ah ok, i think i know the units you mean now... used to run off the watch batteries and were only 1 game per screen (though some had interchangable game screens)

fvcking stupid calling them Mr.G&W though, IMO

Yes they were quite annoying to play, i never fiqured out how to play the first Mr.G&W game that i played?? never tried since icon_razz.gif.

Id love to have one but no way buying.

They weren't called "Mr Game & Watch" - they were just "Game & Watch", as they were a game with a built-in watch - it has two functions, see?
The "Mr" part came about to name the silhouetted figure that appeared in all the G&W games - they just tacked the "Mr" on the front to suggest that he was the star of all of those old handheld games.

As for the GB Micro, I want to know if it can link up to the GCN - can it?
If so, I'll get one without a doubt (plus, they look cool, and would be a perfect distraction during boring Accounting and Finance lectures).
If not... then, I'll think about it, or get one when they're cheaper!

^Ohh... so thats how he came into existance, when i originally played Super Smash Bros Melee i thought he was just a random.

Yup, should be 'game and clock'......though doesnt have that same ring to it.I did actually have a 'game and watch'....an actually watch that was on your wirst with the legend of zelda on it.There were like 3 rooms in it and in each room was a dragon and you had to kil the dragon while dodging his fireballs and the collect your triforce piece.

If the new gc zelda can surpass that kinda depth than were in for a heck of a ride lol.

Personally, i think the micro has no real place. Its strange....it does not belong.....it needs to go back to 'germania'.My DS provides all my gba goodness and damn its only like 30 bucks dearer.Hopefully will appeal to the ipod crowd, aka the 'its shiny, bright coloured, small, must have' crowd.

Theres an ipod crowd? i thought it was an impulse buying crowd and an i can afford it A.K.A. loaded crowed, and Big Pete is definently part of the second crowd, where as i don't fit into any icon_razz.gif.
