E3 2005: Final Fantasy VII Snowboarding Info Revealed

GBA News | How in the world is this game going to work?
Final Fantasy VII was released in 1997 and was a considerable sucess, with over nine million units sold worldwide. Now it seems Sqaure-Enix are getting hungry for money investing anyway they can, in this case in mobile gaming. A confirmed title is Final Fantasy VII Snowboarding.

Score and Time Attack modes will be available, and they are exactly what they sound like. The game will try to reach a broad audience of skilled and novice gamers alike.

Certainly an oddball idea - more news on what phones it runs on when we get it.

Okay, Square Enix need to give it a rest. The dead horse is out of milk.

I can't believe they'd even consider making this game... at least it's mobiles and not a console or DS/PSP game, I guess. icon_kero.gif

I wouldn't mind it. If anyone here has played the game, then it's just a replica of that Snow Mountain area in the game (the name doesn't come to mind at the moment). It would be a fairly enjoyable mobile though, which hopefully it is.

But I agree, this milking of Final Fantasy 7 is getting out of hand. Square-Enix even remade the introduction of the game as a tech demo for the PS3. Yes, the game was good, but they need to move on.

They did move on.. at least, they tried to. It's just that fanboys demanded more FF7, and Square (after many years of fighting it) have decided to cave in and give them what they're asking for (sequals, movies, spinoffs).
The way I look at it, I just assume and pray that Square will continue to make good games, reguardless of the fact that they're reusing what is essentially old material.
