SquareEnix Announces new Final Fantasy VII Spin-off

GBA News | SquareEnix announces yet another title to feed of the glory of the already spectacular Final Fantasy VII title.
Following last week’s surprise announcement from SquareEnix that a new project was currently in development, we can today confirm what exactly that project is.

SquareEnix today announced a new title in the Final Fantasy franchise that has drawn from their top-selling Playstation title, Final Fantasy VII, and will be headed to the PSP early 2006.

SquareEnix’s president and CEO, Ichiro Otobe, revealed that they plan to release a new title for the series, entitled Final Fantasy VII Racing. Ichiro mentioned that inspiration for this title had been made from the amazing success of the original Final Fantasy VII title and felt that the racing aspects of the game was left untouched and he wanted to have that experience further explored.

Final Fantasy VII Racing will be a similar sequence as the motorcycle scene found in Final Fantasy VII. SquareEnix confirmed that there will be a total of ten various characters to choose from and over two dozen vehicles to select. Finally, the chance to play as Cloud on his sexy motorcycle again.

SquareEnix mentioned that Final Fantasy VII Racing would be unveiled officially at their E3 booth in May and will showcase the first footage of the game in motion. In the meantime, be sure to check out the first three level-concepts from the game. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

Well, to give this thread a point... April Fool's jokes! icon_biggrin.gif
Homestar Runner had quite a good one, vgcats's was mildly disturbing, Pokémon Forever's was... average, n-sider's was extremely disturbing, and IGN's DS NES-shooting classics were great icon_biggrin.gif

Also, Google Gulp. icon_smile.gif

Well I can't really describe it in a way that would sound hilarious, which it definitely was.

Basically they announced a deal between the site and EA (Electronic Arts) so that EA had the rights to decide which remixes made it onto the site or something. I didn't really read into it myself, but it was called EARemix instead and had two Remixes of EA games made specifically for the joke. It was rather funny, well I thought so anyway.

sounds like Allakhazam announcing that Blizzard, Square and SOE had signed a crossover deal that allowed all characters to swap between all games...

don't know how a jedi would go in azeroth...

i like Blizzard's:

though last year's Ogre Mage Playable Race one was better..
