Nintendo enjoys fruitful Christmas

GCN News | The Nintendo GameCube has its biggest Christmas ever while the Game Boy Advance SP confirms it's number 1 among the handhelds.
The Nintendo GameCube experienced its strongest Christmas so far, with sales up 88% over Europe compared to the same time last year.

The strength of the GameCube was increased by heightened software sales with such games as Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, 1080° Avalanche and Mario Party 5 all being launched before Christmas. GameCube software sales were up 45% on the same period last year.

The Game Boy Advance / SP also delighted in enhanced sales across 2003 having an increase of 33% on the preceding year.

Game Boy Advance software sales were also up, this time by 104% for the previous year. Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire were the strongest software titles for Game Boy Advance over Christmas.

Nintendo has an excellent software lineup due in 2004 with games such as Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, James Bond 007 Everything or Nothing and Pokémon Colosseum heading to the GameCube. GameCube owners can bargain on another top year from Nintendo.

The Game Boy Advance also has some stellar games being launched in 2004 including Metroid Zero Mission, Pokémon Fire Red & Pokémon Leaf Green (exact name to be confirmed) and Fire Emblem.
