Soul Calibur II Screenshots

GCN News | New screenshots of Namco’s most compelling fighting game revealing more on the new exclusive characters to the Gamecube version and more.
With this installment of Soul Calibur every individual console will be presented with its own exclusive character. As for the Gamecube version, which will be featuring the Hero of Time, Link will be its ‘exclusive’ character.

Nintendo’s exclusive character:

Similar to Super Smash Bros you’ll be able to change the colours of Link’s tunic in the two player versus mode.

Pictures from in-game footage (shown above) show that our hero will be able to use such moves with his bow and arrow, hookshot, boomerang and, of course, his trusty master sword.

New Soul Calibur series Character:

Necrid, the new character to this installment, will weild a long sword that has a distinctive green glow to it.

Again, characters in this game will be able to either change colour or appearance in the two player versus mode.

To view the rest of the in-game footage of the new characters and already confirmed characters look through our media panel.

The game is scheduled to be released in Japan on March 27th across all consoles and to be released in the U.S on August 20th. At the moment there is no confirmed release for the game for all consoles for it’s PAL debut, hopefully we'll get it before the end of the year.
