Nintendo acts on criticisms of new Mario Kart

GCN News | After some complaints following the E3 showing of MK: Double Dash!!, Nintendo of America has announced some improvements to the game.
Gamers at the show in LA back in May coiled back in horror at the lack of power slide. They gasped in disbelief when the game trotted along at a fairly sluggish pace.

Mario Kart had built its reputation on frantic, fast racing and the ability to power slide round hairpins.

Well at the Nintendo Gamer's Summit yesterday, NoA stated that the game will be "considerably faster, and with the powerslide function included."

Great news for fans of the series.

Yay, I guess.

They better bump the speed up to something like F-Zero GX's. icon_wink.gif

They had already said power sliding was going to be included, just it wasn't functional at E3.

Good thing to hear they are bumping up the speed, but to me Mario Kart has always been about fierce competition between mates, power-sliding around every corner just takes the fun away for most. It doesn't matter to me what speed the game runs at, but I hate the new style so far. Same with every Nintendo franchise released on the system, all have been disappointing in one way or another.
