Mario 128 may be unveiled at ECTS

GCN News | The next Mario game for Gamecube, codenamed Mario 128, could be shown at the ECTS trade show in August.
Strong rumours have emerged that Nintendo will take the opportunity to unveil its new Mario game this August at the ECTS trade event in Earl's Court, London.

A disappointing no-show at E3, the mysterious Mario 128 title is expected to take the franchise in yet another direction...but could that direction be a U-turn? The two main possibilities would be a straight sequel to Mario 64 or alternatively, a 2.5D game in the vain of Viewtiful Joe.

ECTS may be Nintendo's only opportunity to show the title before the next E3 in May 2004. It wouldn't be the first time a major Nintendo product first transpired on European soil; the GBA SP was first revealed in a secret meeting for UK press.

Nintendo however has declined to confirm or deny the rumours.

Mario 128 or not, PALGN will be represented at ECTS on August 27th-29th. Look forward to our coverage.

27-29th August

It's more strict about being a Press only thing than E3 but Sony are running a public showcase of Playstation titles along side the main show.
