Everyone's lovable baddy is arriving on the GameCube in June

GCN News | Wario is coming to a Gamecube near you on 20th June. Prepare for more enemy-bashing, gold-collecting and insane laughing.
He's back and he's not in the best of moods! On 20th June 2003, Wario is coming to the NINTENDO GAMECUBE in the brand new action adventure Wario World.

In his first solo outing for the NINTENDO GAMECUBE, Wario's adventures look and sound more lifelike than ever!

Having looted and plundered his way through a number of adventures on the Game Boy, Game Boy Advance and Nintendo 64, Wario finds himself thrust into a riches to rags situation! A mysterious black jewel from his booty collection has transformed all his gems into monsters. What was once his only joy now becomes his greatest of enemies. Its payback time!

In a full colour, three-dimensional extravaganza, brought to life by the awesome power of the NINTENDO GAMECUBE, Wario must battle his way through legions of enemies and solve mind-bending puzzles in order to retrieve his wealth. As he progresses, he'll pick up a number of cool new moves to dispatch his foes. Dirty tactics are encouraged as he punches and kicks his way through the bad guys, collecting coins as he does so.

Secrets will be discovered at every corner! Hidden switches and special sticky balls that help navigate tough spots, reach new areas and beat those tough end of level bad guys all add to the fun.

It's going to be a tough journey for our Wario but at least he has the assistance of a colourful band of fairies that can offer game information and advice throughout his adventure!

Employing the vocal talents of Charles Martinet, Wario is brought to life like never before. Every growl, chortle and giggle is sure to bring a smile to the face of even the most serious of players.

Wario World is a celebration of vibrant colourful worlds of incredible detail coupled with relentless button bashing action! Wario World is released on 20th June 2003

When last talked about in playable for, Treasures GCN exclusive platformer was surprisingly underwhelming. Hopefully impressions from this E3 will shreak something entirely different. Wario's gameplay has always been dramatically different from that of the likes of Mario so hears hoping for something that can wow us.

Stranegly enough, I still haven't seen any confirmation that it's being developed by Treasure, and I've looked closely.

Shame, really. A Treasure game would be much more likely to be a 'must buy' for me. At the same time, I kind of hope that it's NOT Treasure making Wario World. See, if they're not working on WW then a hell of a lot of their staff are taken up with something that we don't as yet know about. How exciting. icon_biggrin.gif
