Twilight Princess will have Revolution functionality

GCN News | It does, it doesn't, it does, it doesn't, it does, it doesn't, it does...
There truly hasn’t been as much hype, disappointment or rumours surrounding a game in quite a long time. The game? The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The catalyst? The continuous delays that have plagued the title since it’s initial release was first pushed back. Skipping all the in between and jumping straight to the one question that has been in the forefront of every Zelda fan’s mind recently – will the game have Revolution controller functionality? Now, we can give a definite answer.

At first there was, then there wasn’t and then we we’re just plain confused. Forget everything that you know and everything that was said because the man at the top of Nintendo - Shigeru Miyamoto - has set the record straight – The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will take advantage of the Revolution's controller when played on the Revolution.

In the same interview that Shiggy divulged the new details of the New Super Mario Bros. game, he also put the Zelda rumours to rest; "I would say that we are progressing well with completing it . And one of the most important features is that, because Revolution can run GameCube software, when you play Twilight Princess on Revolution you can take advantage of the Revolution controller." He remained tight-lipped on how extensive the functionality would be.

So there you have it, official confirmation from Nintendo that Twilight Princess will utilise the Rev’s controller. Now if they could just confirm as release date, we’d be set.

All that means for me is that I will buy this game when I buy my Revolution.

Will be a launch title for the Revolution I'm thinking. Makes sense, new Zelda and new Console. Nice.

..it won't be a revolution launch title. Miyamoto specifically refers to it as "gamecube software".

It's a gamecube game with revolution bonuses.

I'll bet some money at the new Zelda will be launch within 2 weeks of the console. It's a killer launch title really, a polished Zelda for your shiny new Revolution? Makes perfect sense, and it will move consoles if it has new controller functionality.

Nintendo's jigsaw puzzle is starting to make sense, and it's looking like a good picture...

True its a Gamecube game - but that wont stop it being released with the Rev...

The big question though is: Can you consider this game the full experience when played on the Cube?

How many people are going to be prepared to buy this game and resist playing it until the Revolution comes out if when you stick it in you get higher resolution and controller functionality? Thats a tough choice for Zelda fanatics, and I wonder how it would affect Game/console sales!

If it comes out earlier than the rev, I'll play it on GC then replay it on the rev, if it comes out at the same time, I'll get them both and just play on the rev, problem solved.

Well the Gamecube is dead. I can't see Nintendo not pushing the Zelda with the Revolution, it would be just insane to do so.

Plus this works in their advantage because they have been able to spend way longer on the title making it longer and more polished.

Well, I don't mind, as long as I can play it on my cube... I have a feeling I won't be getting a rev for a while. Lousy money.

I hope it doesn't come out too close to the Rev, actually, because the inevitable new Mario that will also be part of the launch lineup will overshadow Twilight Princess for me.

^yeah i wish they spread them out. if this game and the rev were released at the same/similar time, then i wouldnt know if i was coming or going.

Well, since Shigeru Miyamoto said so. Now, it's time this was sent to bed.

guess it will be worth the wait after all..its gonna be very interesting to see how it feels playing one the best games in the world with the rev controller..I am so curious and I cant wait

It would be interesting to see this game now. It has been almost a year and we haven't seen it in action since!

I have been hearing a lot of rumours lately that Twilight Princess will be released around June-July.

Swing the controller like the Dragon Quest Sword game?
I hope parents don't like thier 3 year old play this games... otherwise they may see flying controllers onto the TV screen. Apart from that, it's all good:)
