Metroid Prime Sequel at E3

GCN News | Samus to return - Metroid Prime sequel to be shown on video at this year's E3.
If IGN are to be believed, Nintendo and Retro Studios are preparing to show off a video teaser for the sequel to the stunning Metroid Prime at this year's Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3), the annual videogames show that runs from 14 - 16 May in Los Angeles.

Given the rapturous critical reception that deservedly met the first game upon it's release earlier this year, the news that there'll be a non-playable demo at E3, let alone that a follow-up is in the works, has PALGN suitably stirred.

The first game received universally high marks, and was most recently awarded 'Game of the Year' by UK games magazine Edge. The game shifted a cool million copies, shot to number one in ten European countries upon release, and was generally just really, really great.

The announcement already adds to an enviably strong E3 portfolio of games for Nintendo's Gamecube, that includes F-Zero GC, Mario Kart: Double Dash and Rogue Squadron: Rogue Leader 3. For PALGN however, the chance to once more pull on the visor of Samus Aran promises to be truly enticing...

Seriously, Metroid Prime "2" should be interesting.
I wonder how much the graphics can improve?

Hmmm...

Not sure what to gather of it. Footage could of course be akin to what we saw of MP in 2000, so eh.

Hopefully the next one is a fair way off - the last thing we need is a Metroid every year. icon_neutral.gif
