So Twilight Princess will have Revolution functionality now...?

GCN Rumour | But this time, it's Reggie that's talking.

Reggie's been a busy boy. Not only has he been talking up a third DS version, as we reported earlier today, but there is now talk that The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess will indeed have some special goodies when played on the Revolution. Flip flop flip flop.

According to sources, Reggie told gaming magazine EGM that the game will have special functionality when played in Nintendo’s next-generation console. He said, “The trick will be what makes it special to play on the Revolution, and to the extent that we could create something like that, boy, wouldn't that be fantastic?”

Last week, Reggie reiterated that the game is still going to be released for the GameCube, even though the release date was recently pushed back from around April to somewhere between September and November of this year. This will likely be close to the Revolution’s expected release.

Unfortunately, he didn't divulge any details on the Revolution controller’s function in the game, though he did manage to squeeze out that Nintendo are planning to announce their Revolution release schedule at their pre-E3 press conference on May 9th.

Not surprising at all.

It seems to me that pretty much everything you're gonna do on the rev will seem retarded. Doesn't mean it wont be good, though.

There's a motion-sensor game out at the arcades called 'Mazan: Flash of the Blade' where you do just that. Well, it's a full sword instead of just a remote but the Revolution will probably have an add on to make it sword length and therefore more realistic.

Oh, and I played Mazan when I was up in the Gold Coast - and I liked it.

Wow, that game looks pretty cool! I think the sword idea would be cool in a Rev game. However, i state, there will be no special controller functionality in TP!

First the game has Revolution functionality, then it doesn't and now the functionality is back again. Someone at Nintendo just can't make up their mind.

I wonder what plans they have for this game in regards to the revolution. Now Im prepared to wait..They are obviously delaying the game to for the REV launch which will mean they will not only sell a huge volume of the game but also huge REVOLUTION numbers. smart, but the wait is not easy.

I just hope the the REV launches in PAL land without delaying Zelda further. I'd rather play it on the Rev even if the only functionality is higher resolution output.

Sweet, I'll have a AAA Zelda title to play on day one of the Rev launch.

Winter. This is an interesting development, it sounds as though it will be the only cube game that will be able to utilise the new controller, either that or something else.

They're simple, eh? Hmm, the early Rev ones might be a bit that way, but they usually get harder once developers get into the "swing" of things!

Nah, just wanted to try it. It was right next to Mario Kart GP so I was kinda just waiting for that to be free.

Nah, maybe level 3 or so (1 or 2 credits).
It was right next to Mario Kart GP and some kids jumped on when I went to put more money on the card, so I was waiting for them to finish more than anything.

That's all well and good, but swordplay makes up a fraction of an average zelda game. Extending the remote to sword length would prove troublesome when performing the other 5000 tasks in the game other than slashing the crap out of enemies.

Good point Cerebral, Zelda is not a "FP swordfighting game"! There is a lot more in those games than that, especiallt the 3D ones where you don't have to kill bad guys every second with random battles, etc.. There is a distinct puzzle element to it as well, not to mention all the other stuff that Link gets up to!

I've heard that the early cubes (with digital video) support 640p.
But I'm waiting for the Nrev now.
