No Revolution controller functionality for Twilight Princess

GCN News | Or so is the word from Nintendo.
Rumour has run rampant across gaming forums after NGC Magazine reported that the most anticipated title of 2006, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, will have Revolution controller functionality. Now, Nintendo has dismissed claims that long awaited GameCube title will be playable on the Revolution using the "freestyle" controller.

NGC Magazine was responsible for starting the rumours with an article which read: "When you insert the disc into your Revolution, you'll be given the option to use the Revolution's controller, with all the advantages this will bring." According to Eurogamer, this is not the case. Nintendo told them: "The article in the January edition of NGC Magazine is pure speculation."

"Nintendo have made no new announcements regarding The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. We can however confirm that the game is still in development and that it will launch on Nintendo GameCube in 2006."

In effect, that was probably a bit of wishful thinking there, according to Nintendo. Still, stranger things have happened and maybe there will turn out to be a grain of truth in the speculation. Stay tuned to PALGN, because we'll bring you any information as soon as it breaks.
