To add to these reports we've managed to find out the official title for the game is Pokemon X-D: Dark Lugia and will be a huge ugprade in comparison to Pokemon Colleseum. We've also managed to obtain the first images of the game in action which are located in the media panel.
Pokemon X-D, with the X-D standing in for "Xtra Dimension", will have elements not featured in the GBA Pokemon titles and it will be closer in style to a traditional RPG. The Japanese release date is still August 4th, but no North American date has been announced yet.
The story is based around Dark Pokemon who are Pokemon that have had their hearts sealed away, turning them evil with Dark Skills that they use to attack everyone else. Pokemon X-D stars a nameless hero and his little sister, Mana, who aim to free the Dark Pokemon with the Aura Searcher. The Aura Searcher identifies Dark Pokemon and the Snatch Machine grabs the Dark Pokemon from battle so they can have their hearts returned to them. Lugia, the giant Pokemon that lives at the bottom of the sea, has been turn dark and it is likely that restoring her will be the main goal of the quest. As with Pokemon tradition, you will be given a Pokemon at the beginning. Eevee will be the starting Pokemon in X-D. As always, more details as they are announced.
PALGN will have more information on Pokemon X-D: Dark Lugia, as soon as it becomes available.
