Metal Gear Solid on its way to Gamecube!

GCN News | Miyamoto snipes at terrorists while standing on scaffolding! Or, alternatively, just reveals that you will soon be able to do just that. It's almost the same.
Ah. Shigeru Miyamoto. It appears he did much more than just sign copies of Ocarina of Time while he was in London.

Gamecube fans who like sneaking round buildings and shooting people whilst foiling international terrorist rings are in luck! Because, soon, you WILL be playing Metal Gear Solid on your lovely little purple box of Nintendo goodness. Miyamoto-san revealed this big old slice of hype machine while talking to an Italian journalist, confirming that Konami and Nintendo are working together on a new version of Metal Gear Solid for Gamecube.

Unfortunately, translation is an evil thing and it's unclear at the present time whether this refers to a NEW episode of the stealth-em-up, or simply a remake of the first one. Damn those ambiguous southern European latin-based languages translated twice and via four different sources, none of which can speak the root language fluently! Damn them!

Stay tuned to PALGN for more news on this as it filters through to us.

Now all I need is an assurance that it doesn't have green blood.
You're refering to the old Nintendo, the new Nintendo doesn't seem so uptight about stuff like that. After all, it was Sony that made Acclaim censor BMX XXX for the PS2 release, Nintendo and Microsoft didn't care.

Either way, it's gotta be good. MGS3, MGS1, just not MGS2, cause I've already played that. icon_razz.gif

Excellent news. I hope it's a new game, but a remake of the original MGS could be interesting. Perhaps it could be a new version of one of the NES Metal Gear games, too.

Well, it isn't like Sony had a choice. It pretty much was censor the game or it wasn't coming out. I guess Nintendo and Microsoft just let Accalim make thier own decision. We seriously need an R18+ rating for games.

At the moment I'm taking this piece of news with caution, as it's not 100% confirmed.
Now we need Konami's take on it....

Yes. Remember when Shiggy told IGN that Perfect Dark Zero was coming along just as anyone else would expect it to be coming along. He just forgot to mention that it was for the Xbox.
