Midway reassured us that the Gamecube version was put on hold until Midway’s internal Mortal Kombat team could complete the obstacles of bringing the fighting series online for the two other consoles. Whilst the task isn’t completely finished, Midway has assigned a team that can now begin work on Mortal Kombat: Deception for the Nintendo console.
Unfortunately, online play isn’t planned for the Gamecube version, for obvious reason, although Midway does plan to incorporate some sort of exclusive content in exchange. However, details on the exclusive content have yet to be announced.
Mortal Kombat: Deception will make its first public debut at this year’s Gamestars Live Event, to be held in London during the first week of September. PALGN will naturally be at the event and will be one of the first sets of gamers to go hands-on with the much-anticipated Mortal Kombat title.
