Second Sight gives the gamers control of a character that is blessed with incredible psychic abilities. The game offers the gamer with multiple approaches of level completion, either via stealth, dramatic gunmen skills, psychic powers or a combination of all three. One of the most intriguing features of Second Sight is the ability to psychically influence characters and remotely manipulate objects and individuals.
The game begins with John Vattic, the player-controlled lead character, awaking from a coma in a US medical facility where he has been subjected to traumatic surgery and experimentation. He has completely lost all memory of his past and all he knows is that his only hope for survival is to escape and unravel the mystery that has led to his imprisonment.
John Vattic is continually haunted with flashbacks, which are experienced as fully playable episodes within the game, and shocked by the surprise discovery of his own psychic powers, players go on a search to reveal his past and, in doing so, uncovers a fatal chain of events leading to a sinister conspiracy.
As Vattic explores his present and past, the game interacts between these two different time periods, which will run through the game as a dual-narrative. The player-controlled actions of the past Vattic have consequences in the present - allowing a unique interaction between the player and the narrative of the game as Vattic’s destiny is changed, meaning multiple consequences in story endings.
Vattic’s mysterious powers enable players to shift objects and terrify on-looking guards. Vattic’s abilities will increase as the game progresses, allowing him to tackle some of the more difficult obstacles ahead of him. Also the recently basic techniques, such as moving mere objects, can be upgraded to be able to lift enemies and smash them against the scenery as they scream for mercy! Further psychic powers are revealed through play: Healing (using psychic power to replenish health), Projection (send your spirit out of your body, with the ability to possess another character), Charm (alter the mind of individuals, fooling them you’re not there) and Psi-blast to send a destructive shockwave toward your enemies. This added gameplay feature invites one of the most original experimental arrays of abilities, and makes room for a highly compelling journey.
Vattic’s psychic powers can be mixed with an exciting arsenal of weapons - there are 13 weapons in use through the game ranging from pistols to sniper rifle.
Free Radical Design work with a new landmark combining a mix of stealth and sci-fi action to produced one of the most interested projects for months, or even years.
