European distribution of Zelda OoT and Master Quest announced!

GCN News | Yes, people, it's confirmed! Nintendo WILL make the OoT and Master Quest extras available in Europe! Details within...
Your prayers have been answered! Earlier this morning PALGN reported in this article that Nintendo were to make an announcement today regarding the Gamecube release of the critically acclaimed N64 classic Ocarina of Time and previously unreleased Zelda: The Master Quest in Europe.

The announcement came and went and the news is good - like the US and Japan, European Zelda fans will be given the opportunity to play this extra but, unlike the aforementioned territories, gamers here will NOT have to preorder the game in order to get their grubby mitts on this slice of videogaming pie - rather, it will be included in a 'limited edition' boxset of Zelda: the Wind Waker at the game's launch. It looks like there will be no alternative; ALL purchases of the title will include this extra disc until stocks of it run out, at which point sales will revert to just the game - that means all you who have already preordered the game won't miss out on this freebie.

Also on the bonus disk will be additional gameplay footage of current and forthcoming Gamecube games including the all-new F-Zero, 1080° Avalanche, Time Splitters 2, Phantasy Star Online, Rayman 3 & Super Monkey Ball 2.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker limited edition double disk set will be available in Europe from 3rd May 2003 priced around €60 (£40) whilst stocks last.

What about those who have already placed pre-orders with online shops like Amazon? Will they get the limited edition box set? How can you tell the difference in a shop?

If it's a Europe game store it'll will be included with the disk. If you're still unsure email them about it.

This news is all new to me... icon_wink.gif Sounds great though I'm hoping this deal will also be made in Australia.

Absolutely awesome this is. I can't believe Nintendo are giving away the best game of the last generation. I'll probably get TWW on principal of this if it makes it out to Australia.

Actually I was the one that pointed this out, and what I said was a joke icon_razz.gif Too bad I didn't get to put it up.

I'm going to ring up Nintendo of Australia tomorrow hopefully to get an answer about all this bonus disk talk.

My Uncle has one of the CD-i games very terrible outcome. I don't even know how they got rights on making the titles.

I would like to have for collectors value, but at no time should it be inserted into a Philips CD-i. It must be left on the shelf and viewed as an ornament.

Don't you read the Hyrule Times articles? It says in there.

If it doesn't then here's a rough idea:
Nintendo were planning on releasing a add on to compete with the Sega CD (proof of this is the PlayStation). So they tried some partnerships, Phillips had the rights to a have three Zelda games on the system. When the partnership fell through they still had the rights but of course Nintendo wouldn't create them and so Phillips got someone to. Therefore they suck.
