Australian sales charts, week ending 02/12/07
PALGN News | Mario makes an appearance.

The highly anticipated Super Mario Galaxy - which Chris gave a whopping 10/10 perfect score, the second in the history of PALGN - made its chart debut this week, and it couldn't really ask for anything more, grabbing the top spot. Well deserved, we think. Need for Speed: Pro Street finally started selling like past games in the series, lifting its game to shoot up the charts and finish in second spot. Former champion WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 fell a couple of places to close in third. Making it a trio of PS2 games is The Simpsons Game at four, proving that there is no match for the install base of the PlayStation 2. The 360 version Assassin's Creed slipped down to fifth, while the PS3 incarnation disappeared entirely.
Need for Speed: Pro Street wasn't content with just one entry in the charts, with the Xbox 360 version introducing itself in sixth spot. Meanwhile, Mass Effect is nowhere to be seen. Go figure. Mario & Sonic At The Olympics made its first showing at number seven, interestingly enough. It seems that More Brain Training for the DS is perfectly content on bouncing up and down the charts, this week up two places to close in eighth. Continuing it's somewhat disappointing chart run Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, slipping another place to nine. Rounding things out nicely for us is Big Brain Academy at ten.
The charts are updated weekly and are provided by the beautiful and lovely people at GfK.
