More Deus Ex 3 tidbits

PALGN News | PC and 'next-gen' consoles, according to Eidos man.
While recently it was confirmed that Deus Ex 3 was in development, there wasn't a whole lot of other information on the game floating around. However, in a recently interview with 1UP, Edios Montreal boss Stephane D'Astous let slip some more details about the upcoming sequel.

When asked about the ambiguity of what formats the game would appear on, D'Astous said that "Well, we did that on purpose, because we wanted to tease." How nice of them. "I cannot say exactly which are the platforms that we'll be working on specifically. It's going to be announced in maybe early 2008 or maybe summer. But we're not working on current or last gen, it's next-gen and PC." We would suggest he means the Xbox 360 and/or PlayStation 3.

It seems no one working on the game was involved with the first two Deus Ex games, either. When quizzed about the involvement of any team members who worked for Ion Storm, D'Astous said there were none. "Our team here is basically several people who've worked on triple A titles, but no one from Ion Storm." Warren Spector, the driving force behind the first game, has been consulted, but does not look like he will be provided any significant input to the project.

He promises the game will be true to the series. "There's obvious features that we definitely want to continue. I think the dialogue, choice versus consequences, the depth and richness of the game is something that we will certainly conserve. There are other more specific features that we want to keep."

Good news then. More to come on this massive game soon, hopefully.

this whole article made me kinda sad for the project.

The PS3 and X360 are currently available, so doesn't that make them Current Gen? icon_wink.gif

Everyone calls them Next Gen, and the PS2, Xbox1 etc Last Gen, so just what the hell is Current Gen?? icon_rolleyes.gif

Wii?

Here's hoping Deus Ex 3 lives up to original game, though I have my doubts, being on the Tomb Raider engine and all icon_confused.gif

I think that so many games have stolen so many parts of what made dues ex great in the past that it will have to do something really imaginative to separate itself from the pack.
