This week's releases - 3/12/07

PALGN Feature | Sing your fortunes away.
With exactly twenty-one days to go on the calendar before Christmas, this week features one of the most prominent line-up of titles for the PlayStation 3 of the entire year. Headlining the act on Sony's next-gen console over the next seven days is the first-party title Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. PALGN reviewed the third-person action adventure game last week, which is released this Thursday, awarding it 9/10. The other major release on the PlayStation 3 this week is long-delayed but nonetheless anticipated Singstar.

Rounding out this weeks' releases on the PlayStation 3 is a trio of shooters – Electronic Arts' Medal of Honor: Airborne, Vivendi's Timeshift and Eidos' Kane and Lynch: Dead Men. Whereas EA's latest title in the Medal of Honor franchise parachutes players into the middle of World War II, Timeshift drops gamers into an alternate-reality dictatorship with the ability the rewind, pause and slow down time. Finally, Kane and Lynch will invade store shelves from this Thursday. For our impressions of the third-person game from a recent hands-on session at Atari HQ, click here.

The week is also a healthy one for PlayStation Portable owners, with sequels Syphon Filter Logan's Shadow and Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice being released this Thursday. Syphon Filter Logan's Shadow again places players in the shoes of secret government assassin Gabe Logan. Other noteworthy releases on the PlayStation Portable this week include Aliens v Predator: Requiem and Sonic Rivals 2.

The week ahead is a more a subdued one for the owners of the Xbox 360. The above-mentioned Kane and Lynch and, after a delay, Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation make their way onto Microsoft's console this Thursday. PC owners can also get their hands on Kane and Lynch this week.

There is also no shortage of titles for the kids this week, with the release of a few licensed games as well as some old favourites. PlayStation 2, PC, Wii and Nintendo DS versions of the game based on Bee Movie make their way onto retail shelves this Wednesday. Ben 10: Protector the Earth on the Wii and Bob the Builder: Festival of Fun on the PlayStation 2 round out the list of licensed games for the week. Spyro makes an appearance with the Wii version of The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night and Mario pops up with Mario Party for the Nintendo DS.

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem on PSP is the only thing that interests me on this week's list. Doubt I will get it though.

Can't wait for Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. The massve attack trailer downloaded from the PS Store really makes me want the game more every time I watch it.

EB are saying December 13th for Ace Combat 6. It just keeps getting pushed back. Atari hates us.
