Australian sales charts, week ending 18/11/07

PALGN News | More chart insanity.
It's not the most varied of charts this week, with three games in there twice on different consoles, and six new entries. We have another new number one, and it's surprising to be honest - WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008, on the little old PlayStation 2. Two and three are another couple of brand spankin' new entries - The Simpsons Game, on the PS2 and Nintendo DS respectively. You can read Matty's full review of the DS version here. Big Brain Academy was the only game to not move up or down, staying at four. Surprisingly, after its debut at three last week, the PS2 incarnation of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock has slipped to five.

At number six is, um, High School Musical, again on the PS2. Well really, who doesn't love Zac Efron? Returning to the topic at hand, last week's champion, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has already taken a big hit, dropping all the way down to seven. At eight it's High School Musical yet again, this time for the DS. More Call of Duty 4 is at nine, this time on the PS3. Closing things up for us this week is the eagerly anticipated PC shooter, Crysis.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by the beautiful and lovely people at GfK.

4 out of the top 10 are PS2 games
1 out of the top 10 is a Wii game
1 out of the top 10 is a XBox360
1 out of the top 10 is a PS3 game

Interesting chart, not that I kept a noticeable track of past performance. The PS2 shows no sign of dieing anytime soon.

Mass Effect managed 9th on the XBox 360 charts?

Remember that PALGN feature that said Crysis would bomb and Assassin's Creed would be total ****?

I think that "High School Musical" about sums up where the PS2 fits in atm. It's good that there are more casual gamers coming out of the woodwork, but for crying out loud they play some rubbish. :S
Look at how many singstar type games there are in the ps2 section, petz in the ds section, and sims on pc.
