This week's releases - 12/11/07

PALGN Feature | Don't be left for dead.
Soon PALGN will be launching a new dedicated and comprehensive release date program which will present release data in an easy to read and constantly updated format. In preparation for this we're also launching a feature which keeps you informed of all of the games scheduled to be released in the next seven days. With this feature and PALGN's release schedule you will never miss out on a release date again.

This week sees the release of Ubisoft's highly anticipated medieval action title Assassin's Creed on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Next-gen gamers are also in for other treats this week, with the likes of F.E.A.R. Files for the Xbox 360 and Lair and Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction for the PlayStation 3 gracing store shelves. There are also plenty of titles to keep the kids entertained, including Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 for the Wii and DS, Viva Pinata: Party Animals for the Xbox 360 and multi-platform releases of the High School Musical singing game and the highly popular Catz and Dogz titles. Meanwhile, PC gamers can finally get their hands on the sci-fi first person shooter Crysis, which is also available as a Collectors Edition.

This week's other massive release is the next title in THQ's enormously successful wrestling series, WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2008. However, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable owners will have to wait until next week to get their hands on the game.

Argh too many games. From early reviews it's looking like I'm going to have to buy Assassin's too icon_sad.gif

So reviews for Assassins Creed are out? Awesome, might go read those now. I hope the game is really good, i'm just not looking foward to it very much.

I don't think i'll be buying Ratchet & Clank: Future Tools of Destruction as I tried the demo out on the weekend and thought it was very generic and bland. Also graphics didn't impress me at all....if felt like I was playing a Ps2 game in hi-res. Maybe i'm just used to real high quality graphics but at this time of the year that's what you gotta produce to earn my hard-earned cash. Quite surprised cuz Metroid Prime 3 looked hopeless in screens but looks absolutely amazing running which is the opposite of Ratchet & Clank. I'll be picking up Corruption sometime this week.

I'm the opposite, I really don't like assassins creeds graphics but love ratchet and clank's. I can't stand games that try to be realistic, they always end up being slow, clunky, boring and un-imaginative icon_sad.gif. I can't think of any realistic games I've every really liked actually... HL2 is about the closest to a realistic game I like but HL2 annoys me with it's incompleteness and is still a little slow, clunky and boring.

But then all I have to do is not buy assassins creed icon_smile.gif, unlike the other 60+ games I bought this year (that's 60 games that IMO are better than it icon_wink.gif ).

Ratchet and Clank and Assassins are both instant purcahses for me. I am interested to see some credible reviews for assassins and currently ratchet has a 89.something gamerankings score. Ratchets will be quality.
