eGames 07: New Melbourne expo details revealed

PALGN News | Information on all the publishers, tournaments and games.
The eGames and Entertainment Expo is returning to the Melbourne Exhibition Centre from the 16th to the 18th of November. The show is sizing up to be massive event, with major publishers showcasing many of their big-name titles, in addition to the door prizes and competitions that will be running to keep casual and dedicated gamers alike entertained.

Headlining the show will be Electronic Arts' upcoming sci-fi first-person shooter Crysis, which will be running throughout the show on a number of souped-up PC's. Also featuring this year will be Ubisoft's big Christmas release Assassin's Creed, while over at the Activision stand visitors will be able to rock out with Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock and strap on the combat boots for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

But without further ado, here is the complete list of games that visitors will have the opportunity to check out at the expo:

A number of competitions will also be running over the course of the event:
  • Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock eGames Idol contest - Activision stand.
  • Pro Evolution Soccer 8 eGames Championship - Atari stand.
  • PlayStation 3 online game tournament - Sony stand.
  • Halo 3 eGames tournament - Spectreworld Xbox Zone.
  • Tzuga challenge - Tzuga stand.
  • Cosplay competiton - Animavericks stand.
  • Dead or Alive 4 competition - Animavericks stand.
  • Haruhi Dance competition - Animavericks stand.
  • 1 v 1, 2 v 2 and 5 v 5 matches - Team Immunity eSports Zone.
  • Family Challenge - Team Immunity eSports Zone.

A number of door prizes will also be up for grabs at the expo, including a Yamaha home theatre system, portable audio speakers, and a fully-equipped PC for playing all the latest and greatest games.

The 2007 eGames and Entertainment Expo will be running at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre on Friday November the 16th from 12 noon to 6pm, Saturday the 17th from 10am to 6pm and Sunday the 18th from 10am to 5pm.

I'll be running a few of those competitions, so keep an eye out for me! There's a Tekken 5: DR tournament as well which hasn't really been announced yet. Any Animavericks tourney, expect me to be running. And I have somethying to do with the GHIII tournament as well.

Or is this another game I need to buy? Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is quite possibly the best FPS game I've played, or at least since the original quake icon_smile.gif.
