Will Wright inducted into BAFTA Fellowship

PALGN News | Joining names such as Chaplin, Hitchcock and Spielberg
The BAFTA Fellowship has typically been an honour bestowed upon the best from the world of film and television. That changed today when Will Wright, creator of franchises such as Sim City and The Sims, was announced to be the latest receipient of the Fellowship. The Fellowship is the highest honour BAFTA can award to an individual for their work.

Hilary Bevan Jones, Chairman of the Academy said "Will’s immense, creative body of work and his continued contribution to the industry make him a most worthy recipient of the Fellowship and being such a pioneer, we are thrilled that he will be the first person to receive this honour".

The honour awarded to Will Wright can be interpreted to be another move on behalf of BAFTA to recognise the impact of video games on popular culture. PALGN would like to extend its congratulations to Mr Wright...now hurry up and finish Spore!

Hooray for will! I doubt there is anyone in the game industry more deserving at the moment.
I wounder if in the years to come we'll see many other from the game industry inducted.

Nooo, don't distract him with award parties and free drinks, chain him to that desk, I want my spore!

Just kidding. A well deserved honour for the father of countless yet well wasted hours in front of the PC.
