The PALGN Podcast, Episode 4

PALGN Feature | We discuss Halo, TGS, and have a BioShock post-mortem.
With Evan away on business in the states, it was left up to Jeremy, James, and David to hold the PALGN podcast fort. And hold it we did, although it got quite heavy after a while. So instead of continuing with weak medieval metaphors, we decided to discuss some videogames. We cover the Tokyo Game Show announcements, and ponder the place of a Japanese games show when the dominant player in the local market doesn't show up. We discuss the Halo 3 launch, our thoughts on the game, it's sales potential, and what it means for the Xbox and the industry. And in our 'games we're playing' section, we launch into a discussion of BioShock now the hype has died down.

Evan's dulcet tones will be back in our next podcast on October 15th. If James has his way, expect plenty of Half-Life 2 drooling following the release of Episode 2 earlier that week.

'Squeenix' (or similar) is a fairly commonplace way to refer to Square Enix, at least in the gaming media. I'm surprised you haven't come across it before.

On what you guys were saying about the Dual shock, are you sure it was directional. I seem to recall that it was just intensity, but even in both sides. It's been a while though so I could be wrong.

And the psycho mantis bit in MGS I thought was just him "moving it", not so much left or right, just moving, again its been a while so I can't recall exactly.

In any case I do want to see how different the new rumble will be, I've really been missing it in the sixaxis, especially in warhawk.

One of the biggest things for me and console games has been the rumbling, something to help differentiate itself from PC games.

Any Halo spoilers in this Podcast?

I've missed the first three because of me obviously being away for a while, but now that I'm back I wouldn't mind hearing this latest one. If it's got spoilers in it though then I ain't touching it. icon_wink.gif

No Halo spoilers. Some minor Bioshock spoilers right at the end, although we warn before those.
