There is a new sale at Toys R Us - espescially for Wii Games - like Red steel, Far Cry etc going for 39.99 - I picked up Red Steel last night. Myer is also having a Toy Sale which has some good discount on Wii Games.

Halo (limited edition): $119.76 (available from September 25th)
Re-release of the original? Yes please... Or maybe not...

Anyway, does EB's trade in deal count as a bargain? I traded in 3 games i paid $25 for and played quite a bit of, so $95 + 3 games rented for over a year.
I think it's a bargain. I traded in Oblivion, GRAW2 and Condemned which comes to $140 for 4 games, I can't complain.

I suppose Bioshock for $88 at Big W will have to do me.

Are stores having midnight launches for halo 3?

I'm suprised there ain't much bargains on halo 3 atm.

why?

Halo is a title that will sell through the roof if it required you to chop off your younger siblings thumbs. it makes no sense to have it cheap right from the get-go.

Okay, my response to...

Toys R Us deal:

Unfortunetly my online sources don't have this. I suspect the Toys R Us website has it though but alas, I've reached my download limits and it takes ages for the their specials to load as they're in big .pdf files. I'll make efforts to go to city Toys R Us tommorow.

EB Games:

What is the exact trade-in deal?

Halo 3:

Okay, I suspect most retailers are holding off their sales on Halo 3 until the 27th when their new catelouges start. It's worth noting, JB's catelouge ends on the 24th if I recall correctly so they may have a discount.

I was just called by local EB and notified they are having a midnight launch (Chatswood)

I pre-ordered Halo 3 standard by trading 3 games, so that's $99.95 paid off, but do you think they'd price match Target's price for the CE of $99.95 to swap me up to that?

They probably won't price-match if the trade-ins you made are itemised on you're receipt, as that would be considered "combining offers" IMO.

At first i would try to pick up the game w/o showing your receipt (the game and how much you paid on it will be in their system, just show them ID), bringing in the catalogue to match Target.

I'm actually gonna try that out myself when picking up Paper Mario tomorrow...but i also have a printed summary of all my pre-orders which may help in my favour if they ask for a receipt (although the thing clearly states "This is not a receipt"). It says i've got $99.95 on SPM, but doesn't denote the fact i used the trade in deal i posted earlier. Will let you know...

Not necessarily, I did that today with Paper Mario. I'd already traded in 2 games earlier, then I got them to price match Kmart when I picked it up. No problems at all.

Trade in 3 Xbox 360 games (any games) for Standard Edition or 3 Xbox 360 games and $20 for Collectors Edition, nothing for Legendary.

I've included the EB Games bargains and will try to get Myer and Toys R Us organised tommorow. Thanks everyone.

The current JB Hi-Fi cateloge ends on the 24th if I recall correctly so they may have a discount.
The cateloge ends on the 23rd to be exact, one more thing I just got a memo in regard to a new PSP Slim and Lite deal. It's the same as the Target deal for $309 which includes the PSP Slim and Lite handheld console and two games, but this time the customer is not restricted to Lemmings and Ridge Racer 2. Customers have a choice of two games:

Gangs of London
Killzone: Liberation
Lemmings
LocoRoco
Ridge Racer 2
Tekken: Dark Resurrection

There are a few more, but I can't remember the rest off the top of my head. Just ask a JB Hi-Fi games advisor for the complete list.

I want to price-match Target's Halo3 price at EB's midnight launch, can I do that? (If you think about it, Halo3 doesnt go on sale at target til 9am, so I dunno but hopefully EB will price match)

Nope, its full price or wait until 9am

or take it at full price at midnight, then return it sometime during the week to price-match.

Went to Toys R Us and Myer today.

Myer didn't have anything other than what's already in the list, so your store has either started the new catelouge early, or it's just at their store.

Toys R Us do indeed have $40-$50 Wii games, however it's not advertised so I am unsure of the complete range. Red Steel is $40, Fantastic Four is $50 and Vengence is $40 also. It suggests that Ubisoft and whoever handels Fantastic Four may be reducing their Wii games. Or Toys R Us are clearing the shelves...

At the Wii midnight launch, EB matched the competitors price on all my purchases right then and there. They may do it for the Halo 3 launch as well.

Does EB have a similar deal for the Legendary edition? As in, trade in three 360 games and get $x off the price?

No they dont.
They stopped accepting Pre-orders for the Legendary edition ages before these deals came around.

Are people actually interested in that garish legendary edition? The thing takes up so much real estate, and is ugly to boot.A big fat plastic blob.

Yeah, was hoping that they might extend the same kind of treatment to existing pre-orders though. I should have realized that doing so would be far too decent a thing for EB to do... *grumble*
