Australian sales charts, week ending 12/08/07

PALGN News | Sing it.
One simply cannot argue with the selling power of Singstar. The newest game in the series, Singstar 90s, has debuted at number one in the charts this week. Not bad effort, to say the least. This pushed last week's champion, Mario Party 8 for the Wii, down a notch to a still reasonable second place. Pokemon Diamond continued its chart revival, gaining another place to finish at number three. In a little bit of deja vu we have Singstar 90s again at number four. However, this is the one with the microphones bundled in. It's also possibly the first time the stand alone copy of the game has outsold the bundle. Guitar Hero Rocks the 80s suffered a minor drop, finishing at five.

At number six we have Robin Hood's Quest on the PS2 - not exactly what you would call a chart powerhouse. For the THIRD time this week it's Singstar at seven - this time it's the standalone version of Pop Hits. Crikey. Pokemon Pearl cannot compete with its far more attractive sibling, falling to eighth this week - five places behind Diamond. Meanwhile, Teenage Mutant Turtles on the Nintendo DS has re-entered the charts out of nowhere to claim ninth spot. Closing out the charts is the Transformers movie tie-in at ten.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by the beautiful and lovely people at GfK.

i preordered my copy of singstar 90s last week and has not et turned up in the mail which is concerning me as australia post said that it arrived in brissy on the 10th. I cant wait to get my hands on that bad boy, singstar was the most suprisigl enjoyable franchise I bought into last year and cant get enough of it. It comes as no surprise that it is still so popular.

Please let my package not be lost! It also contains resident evil 2 and 3 for gamecube so I cant afford to buy all that again!)

Ew, three unwanted Ubisoft titles in the Wii top 10.
