Pre-TGS 2007: Sega's TGS list leaked?

PALGN Rumour | Shenmue, Jet Set Radio and more.
Gaming blog XBox 360 Rally has a list of the titles Sega are planning to show and/or announce at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show. Whilst listed there (and elsewhere) clearly as a rumour, the site maintains its source has proved reliable in the past, and they have "much confidence in it’s authenticity."

The far-too-good-to-be-true list includes reiterations and/or sequels of popular Sega franchises including Shenmue, Jet Set Radio, Space Channel 5, Chu Chu Rocket, Samba de Amigo, Virtua Fighter, Skies of Arcadia and The House of the Dead.

Alien Syndrome (Wii, PSP)
After Burner: Black Falcon (PSP)
Beijing 2008: the Official Videogame of the Olympic Games (PS2, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PSP, DS, PC)
ChuChu Rocket! (XBLA, PC)
Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars (PSP)
Fighters Megamix 2 (Xbox 360, PS3)
Ghost Squad (Wii)
Happy Tree Friends False Alarm (XBLA, PC)
Jet Set Radio Next (Xbox 360, PS3)
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Wii, DS)
Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms Visit (PC)
Nights: Journey of Dreams (Wii)
Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of the Illuminus (PS2, Xbox 360, PC)
Samba De Amigo Fever (PSP)
Sega Classics Collection 2 (PS2,PSP)
Sega Rally Revo (Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, PC)
Sega Superstar 2 (Wii)
Shenmue 3 (Xbox 360)
Shenmue I & II Plus (Xbox 360)
Skies of Arcadia 2 (Wii)
Sonic Rivals 2 (PSP)
Sonic Rush Adventure (DS)
Sonic the RPG (Xbox 360, PS3)
Space Channel 5 Part 3 (Xbox 360, PS3)
Space Channel 5 Showtime (Wii, DS, PSP)
The Club (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
The Golden Compass (PS2, PC, DS, Xbox 360, PSP, PS3, Wii)
The House of the Dead 4 (Xbox 360, PS3)
Universe at War: Earth Assault (Xbox 360, PC)
Virtua Fighter 5 (Xbox 360, PS3)
Virtua Fighter Kids 2 (Wii)
Worldwide Soccer Manager Live (Xbox 360, PC)
Yakuza 3 (PS3)

There are a few no-brainers present, as well as games that have already been announced. There are also a few oddities, such as Sonic the RPG being listed for the XBox 360 and PS3 rather than the DS, as previously announced, and Samba de Amigo Fever for the PSP, when other systems would seem to be a more obvious choice.

As already mentioned, this is most definitely a rumour; one that's made all the more suspect in that it's such a dream line-up (or should that be, DreamCast line-up?). It's possible, however, that even if the list is not 100% accurate, a few of the games mentioned may eventuate in some form or another. We can only wait and hope.

A new Jet Set Radio, Shenmue 3, and Skies of Arcadia 2 (Wii)?!

Too good to be true. Although, if you're listening SEGA... I'd do anything for a Skies of Arcadia 2. Anything...

What?

...and by accordingly I mean have Karai make some sweet, sweet 'anything' to him.

No way Sega has all those games coming. One can dream though. *sigh*

Way too good to be true

I don't think a maraca game for the PSP is such a good idea...

If SoA2 is true, then I really need to finish the first one.

I need to get SoA1 if true..

There's no way that can all be true, absolutely no way...

Reads too much like a Sega fan wet dream.

Shenmue 3... Jet set Next... Skies
Can't be true... but that's what I said when I first heard about Mario and Sonic. Shining Force 3 PSP would be nice if they are doing our dream titles..

Looks legit at first sight, but giving it a bit of a thought it's too good to be true, way too many good games on the list at once.

Shenmue 3?!!?! :O

I so want a conclusion to this story, but that list just seems to good to be true ... icon_sad.gif

Even if the list is true, I'm not sure if I hold enough faith in Sega to reclaim the similar success shown in Skies of Arcadia, Jet Set Radio, Space Channel 5 and Samba de Amigo...

For instance, Overworks (developer of Skies of Arcadia) merged with one of Sega's inner companies and is hardly anything special now.

Eh... I'd hate to see them ruin such great franchises just for the sake of fulfilling fan service. I mean, Skies of Arcadia is one of the best JRPGs ever... but if Sega went totally balls on it, I don't know if I could contain myself.

SHENMUE III !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok calm down icon_eek.gif

but seriously you've got to be kidding me, I lost all faith that this game was coming after wanting it so bad for so long

I thought Yakuza was the unoffical Shenmue 3. Shenmue II got me so scared about my trip to China.

According to source in Sega, it was done but that it was waiting to be marketed. Then Yu Suzuki said it wasnt. As time went on Shenmue Online was being worked.

That's the launch list for the Dreamcast 2, releasing on 9/9/09.

BELIEVE.

But seriously, if that list turned out to be true, it would be good. However, it would also be bad, because Sega are basically a horrible developer these days. They haven't made anything of real quality in years.

Another thing - now I know I'm going to be called a fanboy, blah blah whatever, but a lot of those titles are on the wrong platform. Part of Sega's downfall last gen was because they put a lot of games on the Xbox and they all bombed horribly, and that turned Sega down the wrong path. A game like Jet Set Radio will be able to find an audience on the Wii much easier than the 360 and PS3.

Anyways, no use even thinking about it because the list is fake.

Skies of Arcadia 2? Yes please. icon_smile.gif Still mark raised a very good point, and it sort of spoils the awesomeness of the possibility of this game being released, and I also agree that that list is far too good to be true (at least 50% of it). But who knows, hopefully we'll get some confirmation/denial of this list soon.

I can't see how releasing on the 360 can be a bad move. As it stands it clearly has the largest market share, and in my opinion the game would turn out better for it.

Alien Syndrome has already been released and rated really poorly (46% on gamerankings)
