The qualifiers will run until mid-August, when all winners will then head to Sydney's Luna Park for the national finals. The individual winners from this will be flown to Seattle, Washington in the USA to compete in the World Cyber Games finals. Here, the top Australians will be competing against players from 69 different countries.
For those who don't quite consider themselves good enough to compete, there will be room at Luna Park for up to 2000 spectators. All participants will also have the chance to try out new games and compete for range of sponsor's prizes.
“Samsung is a founding sponsor of the WCG and we have seen the event grow in popularity significantly since 2000,” said Kurt Jovais, General Manager – Corporate Marketing, Samsung Electronics Australia. “WCG represents the very best in competition gaming. Not only do we have advanced visual display technologies that are embraced by gaming competitors, but those competitors share a common ideal with Samsung – achievement and excellence in all things.”
