Pre E3 2007: Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games screens

PALGN News | ... And stretch and turn, and kick and turn...
Screenshots of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games have been leaked to Sonic fanboy website, Sonic Stadium and show the game is shaping up nicely. Although the graphics at this stage are looking a tad rigid, the game still has a few months of development time before it's expected release in November, just before the start of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is expected to see Mario, Sonic and their friends/foes finally compete against each other in a wide range of sports activities which will be featured at the Beijing Olympic Games. Based on the screens, players will be able to take control of Mario, Sonic, Tails, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, Dr. Eggman, Knuckles, Cream and presumably more. The game will be released on both the Wii and Nintendo DS. Screens for both versions can be found below.

Not bad at all but it looks a lot more like the Sonic universe of than Mario at the moment I suppose that's what you get for turning out 3 dozen random characters that nobody really remembers, like Esquilax. icon_smile.gif

Also Nintendo seem to be loving that backlighting effect on characters this generation it seams like every title they make now is using it.

I have fears about balencing issues in this, I mean come on, who could beat sonic in the 100m dash?

The DS one is loooking nice, a little improved over the Mario HOops 3 on 3 game.

Has alot of potential, hopefully it will deliver!

Sounds like one of the biggest cash-ins from recent memory....so it'll probably be crap.

It would be interesting to check out but not something I would purchase.

I bet a million dollars the 100m sprint involves the nunchuk and wii-mote moving rapidly up and down in opposite rhythms busting many a shoulder tendon.

Still can't believe sonic and mario, old arch enemies..together...in a game?!? :baffled:

^ Haha! Good times! I remember that in Rayman Raving Rabbits and I was laughing so hard at your attempt I couldn't play properly myself....and I think I smacked myself in the head while attempting it. Your score is still the one to beat though (took it around to Blanco's and Keira's).

Agreed. There is just no need for this game. I might consider renting the game if it recevies good reviews. Nintendo/Sega should created this game without Sonic or Mario and try to pitch it to sports fans. At least that way it looks a little more respectable than cashing in on thier major IP's.

Are these games confirmed to have DS-Wii link up?

so will we see Sonic pull a Tonya Harding and get Mario knee capped? icon_lol.gif

Switch that around, and you've probably got the only possible excuse for why Mario can keep up with Sonic. icon_razz.gif

The moment when Sonic realized that he had lost the one remaining thing he was best at.

Let's be honest- Would you prefer the really really bad usual Olympic Games...Games, or this?

I know which one I'd prefer, and with Shiggy watching over it it can't possibly be that bad.
