Australian sales charts, week ending 17/06/07

PALGN News | Forza, baby.
There's only one new entrant into the charts this week, and it also happens to be our new champion. We are talking about the rather excellent Forza Motorsport 2 on the Xbox 360, of course. Replacing Buzz: The Mega Quiz at two is, er, the bundle version of the same game. Meanwhile, Resistance: Fall of Man has re-entered the top ten to take control of third spot. At four it's Buzz: The Mega Quiz again, yippee. Last week's number one, Mario Strikers Charged Football, fell to number five.

The Sims 2: Fashion Stuff has re-entered at six. Of course. Keeping the re-entry theme going is the Eyetoy Sports bundle - never underestimate the selling power of Sony's PS2 'gimmick' games, even if they've been out forever. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles makes a bizarre re-entry at eight, apparently not getting the memo that mediocre movie tie-ins are supposed to go away and never return. The other PS3 game, Motorstorm, is back at nine, while yet another flippin' re-entry - Zelda Twilight Princess on the Wii - finishes things at ten. At least all those damn animalz games are gone.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by the beautiful and lovely people at GfK.

Resistance at 3? And where the hell did Motorstorm, TP and TMNT come from?

Strikers has come down. Maybe a sign that non-Nintendo first party fans have bought into a Nintendo product for once.

Strikers might be down due to stock issues....went to several jbs in the city (victoria) and all said it was sold out across all stores. Resistance re-enters maybe with the publicity its been getting from the church?

Nice to see resistance and motorstorm re-entering the top ten this week, probably means the ps3 has had a good week of sales.

I think it just means these are the two games every PS3 owner owns or will own, since there's nothing else (exclusive at least) to be excited about right now.

^agreed, until ps3 does produce something that is a must have i guess those two ps3 titles are going to hang around for awhile. I guess this would be a plus on multiplayer side of things though, and the announcement of a tournament might bring people to purchase resistance as well... hmm

I'm pretty sure Sony ppl are buying Resistance and Motorstorm. I can't understand how they continue to stay in the charts? Unless the console is going great down under?

Hmmm having only played Motorstorm at JB HiFi its definitely a very good looking and playable title on a 1080P capable LCD screen. Its very slick.

I think Resistance is getting some bundle deals lately, so people buying new PS3s will almost certainly have a copy with it. Probably a damn slow week apart from Forza, but with out actual numbers it's hard to tell!

Yeah JB have the $1038 (i think that is the price) bundle with resistance and motorstorm.

But zelda back up again. That is cool
