Skate tracks confirmed

PALGN News | Hit the wall while listening to 45 tracks.

EA have confirmed for us via a press release that their upcoming skateboarding title, Skate, will feature 45 tracks for your listening pleasure. The track listing includes a decent range of musical talent from the hip-hop tunes of Gang Starr to the rocking style of Black Flag. EA have also stated that there will be 18 exclusive tracks from XXXChange, skateboarding legend, Tommy Guerrero, and other famous DJs.

“The soundtrack for SKATE is a direct reflection of true outlaw skateboard culture," said Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music and Marketing at EA. “It's a throwback to the days of underground skateboard videos when skaters created their own soundtracks that raided every genre of music. In that spirit, we talked to hardcore skaters around the country to help pick many of the songs for SKATE. Real recognizes real, and this soundtrack is a straight-up tribute to a culture like no other.”

Skate is expected to release by the end of the year and is looking like it will be some hefty competition for Neversoft's Tony Hawk franchise. The game will feature 14 different playable pro skaters and will be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

that track list looks awesome, i cant wait to see how this game looks its a shame i only have a wii and wont be able to play it.

A lot of those songs remind me of a time when I used to be a pretty decent skater and my ears are still suffering from similar tracks that I used o skate to.

The track list is indeed awesome. However, wasn't NWA's express yourself used in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4? If so not a bad game to steal ideas from anyway. The best in the Tony Hawk franchise hands down.

Good track list although N.W.A - "Express Yourself" is in too many games. C'mon, they have better songs than that.

This soundtrack wins purely because it has a Children of Bodom song in it, however the rest of the track list also looks quite good and should provide some entertaining listening while playing the (hopefully) awesome game.

It was never a PS3 exclusive.
