Australian sales charts, week ending 27/05/07

PALGN News | Yargh.
Coinciding with the release of a certain blockbuster movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End for the PlayStation 2 has taken the top slot in this weeks charts. No surprise there, really. It's another new entry at two - Buzz: The Mega Quiz. If it enjoys sales anything likes its predecessors, expect it to be in the top ten for a billion years. Suffering from the new guys is Command and Conquer 3: Tiberian Wars on the Xbox 360, dropping to number three. Animal Crossing: Wild World continued its bizarre renaissance, climbing again to reach fourth. Keeping the DS theme going is Diddy Kong Racing DS at five.

God of War II, last week's champion, is down five places to a comparatively low number seven. It's Buzz: The Mega Quiz yet again at seven, but this time the version that comes with buzzers boxed in. Eight and nine are the two PS3 launch titles who continue to do so well, Resistance: Fall of Man and Motorstorm. If only they could find some chart allies. Finally, at number ten is a completely unexpected re-entry - Mario Kart DS, coming out of nowhere like Animal Crossing did a few weeks ago.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by the beautiful and lovely people at GfK.

Hang on... if I've got this right the protracted and poorly promoted release of Eledees allowed a niche products like Cooking Mama to out sell it?!?!

I'm glad I'm not in game development slaving away for months if not years only to have the success of your product at the mercy of these publishers and their kooky decisions.

It seems Atari are responsible in this case.

It amazes me the Resistance and Motorstorm continue to sell so well considering the low installer base icon_smile.gif

Gogo resistance and motorstorm - carry that PS3 torch.

Pirates is f**king horrible, yet regardless of how much I tell them that, they still buy it at our store. And with a warranty.
