Serious Sam 3 confirmed

PALGN News | Threequel on the way for madcap shooter.
Development of Serious Sam 3 is underway at Croteam, with the developer revealing the title to Croatian magazine GamePlay. Apparently, the game will take place in the present day, and will embrace the same chaotic, thousands-of-enemies-packing-the-screen-at-once style of gameplay that made the first two titles so popular with fans.

No news yet on a publisher, release date, or even which platforms it will be appearing on, but at least we know it exists. Hooray.

Sweet news. Can't wait. Massive amounts of skeletal horse's getting blown away by a cannon is always a crowd pleaser (well it pleases me anyway).

Yea this is great news! There were some truly fun times to be had with Serious Sam. It's funny because I had some mates that were into going to LAN palours etc and a couple of times I went along and they would all sit there and play Day of Defeat (mod for counterstrike) and I wasn't a big counterstrike fan (I used to be but i'd played it too much and the cheaters....oh the cheaters...) and my mate and I found Serious Sam on the hdd so we started that up and lo and behold you can go through the whole game in co-op (the best way to play any game in the whole world!!!!) so we did and we had such a blast....infact we were having so much fun the guys who were playing Day of Defeat decided to join us (I think you could have upto 8 people playing co-op....which is like so awesome I outta kill someone).

Anyways I just wanna say...Serious Sam is awesomeness and I will pick this next gen offering up as long as it's solid.

While I'm with UGH 100% on the Serious Sam 1 front (co-op was so much fun it should have been illegal), SS2 was pretty poor IMO. I hope they manage to recapture to fun and style of 1 with this, because I'd love to love a Serious Sam game again icon_smile.gif

The Serious Sam games were wicked, it was a nostalic look back at FPS's of yesteryear with insurmountable odds pitted against you at every corner (literally hundreds upon hundreds of enemies coming at you in waves, not to mention the enormous bosses at the end of every section). It included the ludicrously insane weapons that got the blood boiling every time you knocked off a few enemies (I agree, the cannon was the shiz) and it included co-op. Co-op was awesome, plain and simple, you could play through the entire game with friends blasting the crap out of everything. The enemy numbers were increased when friends were added to the mix and made the game even more frenetic and intense.

Long story short, pick it up off your mate and have a blast. Or play it at their place with them, that's even better.
