NiGHTS will be able to wear various masks - Dragon, Dolphin and Rocket - which enable NiGHTS to morph into different forms, presumably in similar fashion as he/she/it morphed at certain points in each level in the original Saturn version (growing a fish tail when underwater, turning into a bobsled on a snowy mountain, etc.)
A more interesting addition, however, is that the game will make use of Wii Connect 24; not just as a means of trading items with friends, but the Wii's Forecast Channel will be used to "change the scenery according to real-world seasons." Fans of the original NiGHTS may recall a level which incorporated a giant clock as part of the landscape, which displayed the time according to the Saturn's own internal clock. It would appear that Sega is keen to include similar whimsical features into the sequel.
