New Smackdown 2008 shots

PALGN News | First screenies from THQ's latest 'rassler.
The first batch of screens from WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 is now doing the rounds on the internet. As you can read here, the follow-up to last year's highly popular WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 is set to appear on a grand total of six different platforms, and will probably still be really, really, really popular. It's certainly looking rather swish, anyway.

Hit the Media Panel for the usual selection of glistening male pectorals, questionable moustaches and fake expressions of pain.

Looks pretty good. Though the bodywork still looks a little unrealistic. I need to see these man-boobs flapping around a bit.

Man, Triple H With Abs. WWE Has input with their character models, as shown with the Wrestle Kingdom series.

Examples:

Sif Kane has abs like that.

Now, here's Naomichi Marufuji. Same Developer, realistic character models. Marufuji is one of the high profile wrestlers of Pro Wrestling NOAH.

As for other wrestler models that aren't affected by egos, go here:

I always thought that was funny when guys like Ric Flair have ripped bodies in these games. I thank god the people who are making TNA Impact didn't make Samoa Joe ripped.

What's the general feeling about SvR 2007 around here? I've got 2006 and love it but being a Foley fan want to eventually upgrade but have heard bad things.

Don't get it.

It's buggy as, no real improvements to speak of, control system wears off and makes you want to revert back.

The series has really gone downhill since Here Comes the Pain.

Dont thank god, thank Midway.

I find that pretty funny myself, the bulk HHH up in games that try to make him look like he has more muscles than Scott Steiner.

In that sneak peak of iMPACT though AJ is more ripped in the game than he is in real life but Joe looks pretty accurate.

Obviously they have removed Monty Brown and Jeff Hardy from iMPACT and will most likely end up in this game, with Monty known as Marqus Cor Von of course (where does Vince come up with this stupid s**t?)

I was disappointed 07 did not include Kendrick and London, they were smackdows tag team champions at the time (and still are last time I checked) and were probably considered for the titles for a long time (their long run seems to indicate that) but not considered for the game.

I expect Midway to supprise everybody and iMPACT could end up being a better game.

I will try before I buy with Smackdown vs Raw 08, I felt I got burnt and ripped off with 07.

iMPACT I will defiantly get, its a wrestling game with my fave wrestlers and fave wrestling promotion, its been I good long time since I have last been able to say that

I heard the reason Londrick were not in 2007 is that Spanky had certain contracts in Japan (merch I think) that would have ben breached if he'd appeared in this game. Those contracts have since expired so they should be in this year... The key word there is should.

I have high hopes for Impact as both AJ Styles and Samoa Joe are both gamers and have been putting in a lot of imput into how the game should be made. Samoa Joe apparently lives close by to where they're working on the game and wanders over from time to time to check on things and give opinions.

I reckon I might hold on to 2006 and perhaps rent 2007 just so I can say I've played it. After all 2006 may be the last WWE game to have Chris Jericho, Christian and Tajiri in it. Thanks guys.
