PALGN has moved

PALGN News | ...to Australia!
Despite being an Aussie-centric site, PALGN has always been hosted on US servers (since the bandwidth is just so damn expensive in Australia). Because so many of you have been visiting recently, our old server has been struggling under the load.

As a result we’ve done a speedy upgrade, moving to not only a much faster server, but also one that is located in Australia, too! Since the vast majority of our readers are Australian, this will mean much faster download speeds and generally faster browsing of the site. Those 200ms really do make a difference. For our loyal UK readers, you’ll notice faster browsing speeds thanks to the twice as powerful server, although the download speeds will remain similar to when we were hosted in the US.

While you’re enjoying our new speed, why not check out PALGN’s inaugural podcast?

I know some of the media files are missing - they're in the process of being transferred now.

Please post any other problems you find in this thread.

I really like the changes to PALGN. Faster, bigger and better! Nice work making the server change so fast (I would have gone through withdrawal symptoms if it wasn't icon_eek.gif).
Nice podcast by the way, good to listen to whilst i'm surfing the forums (PALGN's forums that is icon_biggrin.gif).

Hooray for PALGN! Now when Australia annihilate England in the Ashes 06, the prisoners of her majesty cannot accuse Australia of being sustained by the United States of America.

A bunch of my posts from last night seem to have gone missing... icon_sad.gif
I wonder if that has anything to do with the change-over, or our 'net being spazzy at home... or some over-zealous mod action?

Congrats on migrating to Australia, guys. You guys rock.

I've noticed a few posts missing in the Microsoft forum so far, and a huge speed difference.

Yeah, we will have lost any posts made after 11pm on the old server. I'll do my best to recover them. Everything else should now be transferred icon_smile.gif
