Passion concert series detailed

PALGN News | Courtesy of Eminence.
Fans of video game and anime music are sure to be in auditory heaven. The Eminence Symphony Orchestra are preparing another concert series for Australia and Singapore, entitled Passion. Some of the world's most talented musicians will be displaying their mastery in a more intimate style, focusing on two violins. Eminence, well-known for their "A Night in Fantasia" concert series, are always working on the next big event for those passionate about music from the greatest Japanese art forms.

The two featured artists performing are Ayako Ishikawa and Hiroaki Yura, both extremely talented violinists and Eminence veterans. They will perform unique arrangements of memorable themes from games such as Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Tsubasa Chronicle, Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy XII, Xenosaga, Haibane Renmei, Shadow of the Colossus, Super Mario Bros., .hack//Liminality and many others. In addition to the selection of anime and games, they are also performing selected classics from Walt Disney features, as well as well-known and respected classical pieces.

The violin virtuosos are supported by an impressive line-up of musicians. They are Natalia Raspopova on piano, who made her Eminence debut at “A Night in Fantasia 2006”, Joshua Hill on percussion, an Eminence veteran - and Passion will mark the debut of newcomer Zane Banks on guitar.

The excitement does not end with the performances. Industry masters and long-time legends Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono series, Xenogears) and Hitoshi Sakimoto (Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy XII) will be in attendance as special guests, adding prestige and authority to the performances and evenings as a whole. Mr. Mitusda will also be playing the bouzouki on a select number of titles. Fans will be able to meet and greet Mr. Mitsuda, Mr. Sakimoto and the musicians after the concert.

Eminence was founded by Passion performer Hiroaki Yura (winner of the 7th Etoh Toshiya International Violin Competition for Young Violinists and a prize winner with the Gisbourne International Music Competition in New Zealand), and unites accomplished professional musicians with careers in classical music. For over three years, Eminence has performed “A Night in Fantasia”, a full Symphony Orchestra concert of music from video games and anime, and the longest-running series of its kind in the world.

Oh, snaaaap!

I'll be there volunteering at the Melbourne one as usual. Possibly in an Ouendan costume, we'll see.

i really like Perth, but i also hate it. So isolated and not as popular. I really look forward to hearing of these concerts then boom, again no Perth. Its only because it wouldnt profit, prolly not enough fans out here...yes out here, implying the immense distance....
