Pandemic opens a second studio

PALGN News | Why destroy humans when you can get them to work for you?
Pandemic has confirmed today via a press release that they're opening a second development studio. The development studio will also be set in Brisbane.

Josh Resnick, the president of Pandemic Studios has confirmed that "“With the release of Destroy All Humans! 2, (the) Brisbane studio is now turning its attention to the development of brand new titles for next-generation gaming systems.”" The original Destroy All Humans! was one of the most successful Australian developed titles of all time and it's sequel looks to improve on the predecessor even more.

Pandemic is certainly establishing itself as a large developer, stay tuned to PALGN for a review of Destroy All Humans 2! once we're finished killing them all.

Great news! The growth of Pandemic will be great for Australian gaming development. Pandemic Studios have shown great potential - now for some intriguing source material for their dev teams.

Agreed, although I would've like this news more if they opened a Sydney studio.. but you can't win everything icon_biggrin.gif

Sydney studios will always be rare due to the lack of government incentives and the high cost of both living and running a business in Sydney. It's not coincidental that Brisbane and Melbourne are the game development hotspots of Australia - there's actually support for the industry in the corresponding states.

I know a few people at Pandemic. As usual though, you don't hear about stuff like this until it happens icon_razz.gif
