Hilary Duff’s star power is not the only celebrity clout behind the marketing of the expansion. It is also getting musical contributions from The Flaming Lips and the Pussycat Dolls to name just a couple of acts. This is also not the first involvement by celebrities in the world of the Sims. A little while back electro-rockers, Depeche Mode, released a song entitled 'Suffer Well' which had their voices translated to the gibberish that is Simlish. The video clip for the song showed the band members appear as Sims versions of themselves too.
Sims 2: Pets is the 4th instalment in the top selling series. Prior expansions have fleshed out the activities that your Sims are involved in such as education, work and play, but Pets aims to increase the variety of activities and interactions within their personal lives. There will be many species of animals introduced including such oddities as "wormrats", however the focus of the expansion will be those ever popular cats and dogs. Players can adopt a pet, using the in-game pet adoption phone line or creat a pet from scratch for their Sims families. Hopefully the Sims will do the bulk of tending to these mutts for, as Nintendogs has proven to us, we have enough trouble giving ourselves our own flea baths and getting out for walks, let alone doing it for our fake pooches.
