When I asked EB about their pre-order deals for PS3, they told me that Toys 'R' Us are actually cancelling their free game with PS3 offer. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

I'm hangin out hardcore for some sweet 360 deals.I just know if i get one now everyone and their dog will suddenly have the premium consoles on specials with free games etc etc.Christmas cmon.

I was actually hoping on some deal for fathers day....no such luck though.

^ I'm thinking exactly the same way Jibbs. Up until now, retailers have almost universally kept to the $650 RRP for the premium, but now we're starting to see some decent discounts. I just know it'll be worth waiting until November-December for sure! (not to mention the lack of distraction from uni work!)

That is a nice deal but unfortunately (for me), I won't have that much money on the 12th so I can't take advantage of it. So, is the 'Wireless Fun Pack' deal (or whatever it was called - Premium 360, Kameo and PGR 3 plus an extra controller) still available and if so, where would be the best place to get it? It's only two weeks away my 360 purchase so I'm beginning to look out for the best deal/s so any help would be appreciated.

DAMN you DVDCrave for having a rocking sale when I can't take advantage of it! Reminds me of Big W doing the same a few months ago. BAH!

The workers at EB are highly intelligent individuals that put the customers needs first.
I heard about the free game deal at toys r us with pre-ordering a PS3 so i guess it was real.Man if i pre-ordered though and then they renegged,i'd be pissed and would ask for a full refund.

My bet is neither of those stores know what the hell is going on.

Last time I was at TRU the PS3 pre-order signs had been taken down. The Wii pre-order signs were still in place though, also with a free game. I'm presuming that TRU will still honour the existing PS3 pre-orders. My guess is that they heard there might be shortages so they've stopped taking pre-orders just in case.

^ Yeah that's the cheapest premium price, but that ends this weekened apparenty (father's day thing). The premium and wireless fun pack can be found at Dick Smith Powerhouse for $799 if you're interested, Nismo.

Dick Smith's catalogue price for the short term is $599. I'll be going back today to have another look. The store near me had a "manager's special" earlier in the week with PGR3, DOA4, Kameo and something else $40 each! They had no stock so I couldn't get any but I'll check again today. At that price it's tempting just to get it and put it away until November, but even if I don't want it I'm sure someone would be interested in such a price!
