Australian sales charts, week ending 23/07/06
PALGN News | Three new entries and a new champion.

For the second time in as many weeks, we have a new #1. Not surprisingly, it's AFL Premiership 2006, snapped up by hordes of footy fans instantly upon release - you can read the first review here. Interestingly, last week's champion, Singstar Rocks, has fallen out of the multi-format charts, and is only at a lowly #7 in the PS2 chart. Cars is still holding its own at #2, while Buzz: The Big Quiz surged back up the charts yet again, landing its #3 position. Just because Rocks is out of the charts, it doesn't mean we are Singstar-free - at #4 Singstar 80's re-emerges after some time out of the top 10. At #5 we have the first non-PS2 game in New Super Mario Bros. for the DS.
The popular Brain Training fell this week, but still holds a reasonable #6 position. Likewise, Guitar Hero lost two places to fall to #7, but has consistently been in the middle of the charts since its release. #8 is an odd one - it's the Hasbro Four Game Pack. You know, one of those budget things targeted at the kiddies. At #9 we have a new entry (despite what the icon next to it says) in the bland Over the Hedge on PS2. Closing out the charts is the re-entry of the Shrek Superslam/Madagascar double pack for the DS, making it a two console race this week.
