New Castlevania DS in the works?

PALGN News | Magazine drops sizeable hint.
Having already enjoyed the rather excellent vampire-bashing that's to be found in Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, we're thoroughly chuffed to hear that there could be another Castlevania game making its way to the DS. OK, so there's not been any official confirmation yet, but a strong hint in the latest edition of Nintendo Power magazine suggests a second DS adventure in the franchise may not be far off.

In a blurb about the next issue, the magazine teasingly informs us that its next cover-story will concern a game that is, "As mysterious as a new moon, the follow-up to one of 2005's best DS titles is a whip-smart adventure that you won't want to miss."

Moon, whip-smart? Despite the unjustifiably poor commercial performance of Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, it all points in one direction if you ask us. And as soon as the next issue of Nintendo Power lands in front of us, we'll know for sure.

Poor commercial performance? How do you figure that?

I heard a rumour that this one is going to based on Circle of the Moon. If it is true, then I'm happy (I like CotM the best compare to the other 2 GBA Castlevania). Now, I can only hope for Konami to remove the style boss sealing crap, and add in more puzzles.

^U can only make so much money in selling, ooh, roughly 17 copies of the game worldwide.

They really need a new distributor for Australia, whoever was handling it was a moron.

Yes indeed. The only copy I have ever seen of it was the copy I bought.

Someone said only 1,000 copies were released in Australia ?

Agreed, Atari sux!

I bought Circle of the Moon for Gba when it came out and haven't seeen any 2d castlevanias on store shelves since! When I went to Canada I picked up Harmony of Dissonance (around the time it was released) and since coming back to Australia found out Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow weren't even given a proper release here (limited copies).....and seriously these were the 2 I wanted to play the most....especially Dawn of Sorrow with it's updated 2d goodness and a manga style intro. Dawn of Sorrow was the reason I was going to buy a DS (still haven't got one), it's kinda lucky in a way cuz now I get to buy the DS Lite without loosing money on the original and I bought a copy of Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow (brand new) off eBay last week. So all I have to wait for now are the games to arrive and the ds lite to be released and i'll be able to get my castlvania fix on once again.

Damn Atari though. Maybe we can all start a poll for Konami to find a different distributor or something?!

I just imported the US version of Castlevania Double Pack from dvdcrave; it was the most affordable way to get both Harmony and Aria.

I look forward to a new DS adventure but I highly doubt it'll be based on COTM as IGA withdrew COTM from the official Castlevania timeline.
