Australian sales charts, week ending 29/01/06

PALGN News | Will anything ever actually happen in these again?
Ok, now we're officially pining for the release of the Xbox 360 just to see what sort of affect it will have on the charts, because this is now getting ridiculous. This week, it's not just Need for Speed: Most Wanted that's remained in it's top slot - the entire top 5 is exactly the same as last week. Buzz: The Music Quiz is still in second. Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 is clinging to #3. The immovable object that is Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories is at #4 yet again. Ricky Ponting Cricket 05 is still hitting boundries at #5.

So, at #6, we finally get some movement. Of course, it's just Eyetoy: Play 3, which has been jumping up and down the charts for months now. World of Warcraft is a re-entry to the charts this week (regardless of it's symbol in the pi cture) at #7, as is Age of Empires III at #8, providing some much-needed spice to the charts. The last two spots aren't really surprising though, with Ratchet: Gladiator refusing to drop out of the top 10, and Need for Speed: Most Wanted on Xbox slowly drifting down, sneaking in at #10 this week.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by GfK.

I wonder how many gamecube games were actually sold last week?
My guess is about 10.
Lucky they don't publish those stats, or I nintendo may be seriously embarrassed.

Forget about The Sims. Who on earth is still purchasing Halo 2?
