First Half Life 2 shots

PALGN News | Half Life 2 to be shown at E3 in May. First shots of the game inside.
German Xbox site Xbox4u has posted scans from an upcoming magazine article on Half Life 2. They also had this to say:

Developer has valve confirmed that helped Life on the E3 of this year for the first time the public one presents, already hardly geistert a first screen SHOT by the net, with which it acts obviously around a Scan out of a magazine. Numerous magazines had shifted their publication date, in order to be able to report in time for running out the NDAs (secrecy contract) on 28 April on the coming 3D-Shooter-Hoffnung.

Now one seems to have arrived already prematurely this article over the Shooter not confirmed yet for the Xbox into the hands of an anonymous scanner, which passed on screen SHOT from it the Dutch Website gamer.nl.

Planet Half-Life has also added a new list of rumours to their site;

-Half-Life 2 is scheduled for a September 30th release.

-Yes, you're still Gordon Freeman, and yes, the story assumes you went to work for the G-Man.
-Half-Life 2 takes place in a European city called "City 17."

-Headcrabs will be back! Although some of the Xen aliens will be your friends?

-Barney is back. And so is Half-Life's original writer, Marc Laidlaw.

-While the new engine has all sorts of fancy features, it's still designed to work on lower-end machines. Apparently a 700mhz processor and a video card capable of running DX6 is enough, although a 2ghz with a GeForce4 is recommended.

-The girl in the promo art is named Alyx, a daughter of a scientist who factors into the story somehow. She's not playable.

-Scripted Sequences will be more interactive.

-Half-Life 3 is planned, so expect another cliffhanger ending.

While the game is due for release on the PC, many rumours have been circulating about the possibility of Half Life 2 releasing on the Xbox.

PALGN will have more news as it breaks.

wwooooooowww. I wonder if it causes the same kind of addiction as the first one...

And it's more than good that Valve has designed it to work on older computers, too.. icon_biggrin.gif

Half-life is still one of my favorite games for the PC, so if there is no PC release, this may be a reason to buy an XBOX icon_confused.gif

Fan-frikkin-tastic shots. Can't wait. Even though I only bothered to complete about half of the original game (silly, silly me) it was one of the greatest FPS experiences I've had. Made me sweat from my armpits.

Anyone else thought that this had a striking resemblance to the fallen WTC towers?

Hopefully, much of the original engine is used in this one too.

Indeed - Half-Life was a brilliant title; so brilliant that only one game dared to challenge it's greatness ( System Shock 2 anyone? ).

I am waiting forward to HL2 with my mouth drooling.

Seriously Haarbs, the original engine was just an enhanced version of the Quake engine icon_wink.gif

This is an entirely new engine.

Yeah, but I mean that the same graphics style is still there, that it has been built on from that original engine, just enhanced.

I have SS2. I think I bought it off an Ebay-type site in a package. I only played like 10 minutes of it. icon_redface.gif Couldn't be bothered learning the controls and buttons, so I got stuck early. Maybe I should get back to it?

You should DEFINITELY go back to it. I bought it from Estonia (cheap, pirate game-country) icon_biggrin.gif. It worked until I got to the hydroponics deck. It always jammed when it started loading it.. icon_sad.gif

I've got a perfect copy of it beside my keyboard at this very moment.

If anyone wants to they can buy it off me, but it won't be cheap. 8)
